Free car tax and ULEZ widgets for your website

Add a UK car tax (VED) calculator or a ULEZ and Clean Air Zone checker to your website for free. Paste a few lines of HTML and, if you can, leave the small Autoza credit underneath. Figures come from GOV.UK, TfL and the councils that run each zone, with the dates they were checked shown in the widget.

Car tax (VED) calculator

Works out the annual vehicle tax on a car from the year it was first registered, its fuel and its CO2 figure (or engine size, for an older car). It covers all three UK tax systems, the Expensive Car Supplement and the historic vehicle exemption, and asks which side of a changeover date a car falls when the year alone cannot say.

ULEZ and Clean Air Zone checker

Says whether a car, van or motorbike is likely to be charged in London’s ULEZ or an English Clean Air Zone, what the daily charge is in each zone that would charge it, and what a year of it would cost. Where the registration year cannot settle it, the widget says so and links to the official checkers.

Car charges read from TfL and council pages on 28 July 2026; van and motorbike charges on 1 October 2026.

How to add a widget

  1. Copy the code for the widget you want and paste it into your page where the widget should appear. Most website builders have an “embed” or “custom HTML” block for this.
  2. Please leave the credit underneath the widget (the last line of the code). It tells your visitors where the figures come from.
  3. That is all. The widget resizes itself to fit, works on a phone, and there is nothing to install or sign up for.

A small request: keep the Autoza credit

The widgets are free to use, and the credit is a courtesy, not a condition. We would be grateful if you left the small “Powered by Autoza” credit visible next to the widget: it tells your visitors where the figures come from. If you prefer, you may add rel="nofollow" to the link under the widget.

Terms of use, in plain English

  • Free. Use a widget on any website, personal or commercial. No sign-up, no fee, no email address needed.
  • Please keep the credit visible. Leave the “Powered by Autoza” credit inside the widget and, if you can, the Autoza link under it. You may add rel="nofollow" to that link if you prefer.
  • Do not change the figures. Use the widget as it comes. Please do not edit, copy out or republish the answers it gives, and do not hide the dates and sources it shows.
  • Guidance, not advice, and no warranty. The widgets are provided as they are, to the extent the law allows, with no promise that they are complete or current. Vehicle tax rates change each tax year and zone charges are set by the people who run each zone, so check the GOV.UK rates and the official TfL and GOV.UK checkers before relying on an answer for a particular vehicle.
  • We may change or withdraw a widget at any time, for example when the rules change.
  • Privacy. A widget sets no cookies, loads no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts, and never asks for a name, an email address or a registration number. Our privacy policy covers the rest.

Report a problem
